Ingenio israelí , resume bien el sentido de esta historia.

No son antenas parabólicas que transmiten señales eléctricas que dan origen a las telecomunicaciones.

Se trata de antenas captadoras de energía solar.

En Energías Renovables se da cuenta de ello.

La empresa israelí Zenith Solar ha desarrollado un sistema de captación solar de aspecto similar al de una antena parabólica que se mueve buscando el sol para producir electricidad y calor. El sistema se ha implantado en el Kibutz Yavne, en el centro de Israel.

El aspecto del ingenio contrasta con el entorno rural donde ha sido instalado. A la entrada del Kibutz (comunidad o grupo en hebreo) se han colocado dieciséis platos cóncavos de espejos de diez metros cuadrados, los captadores solares. Son unos espejos que concentran la radiación solar y la dirigen hacia una especie de brazo metálico que se encarga de convertir la luz en electricidad. El modelo utilizado en el Kibutz Yavne también genera calor, que es capturado por un sistema de refrigeración con agua a través de cual se obtiene agua caliente para uso doméstico e industrial.

El director de Zenith Solar, Roy Segvev, ha afirmado que “estos sistemas utilizan tecnología espacial. Sus células fotovoltaicas son por lo menos dos veces más eficientes que los paneles estándar”. La información facilitada por la compañía destaca entre sus ventajas “una eficiencia del 75% (21% de energía eléctrica y 49 % de calor), que requiere poco espacio, que puede actualizarse según mejoren las células y el reducido coste del Kw/h”. Un solo dispositivo, asegura, puede producir 5 MW al año. El precio de una unidad para una vivienda es de unos 50.000 dólares, unos 37.500 euros.

La planta solar instalada en el Kibutz Yavne tiene capacidad para cubrir la cuarta parte de la demanda de electricidad y agua caliente de las 250 familias que viven en esa comuna agropecuaria. Anualmente se generarán 150 MW eléctricos y 350MW termales, lo que equivale a dejar de consumir 40.000 litros de combustible fósil al año.
